Disassembly
1.
CAUTION: Do not damage the speed sensor pulse wheel.
NOTE: Left side shown, right side similar.
Using special tools, remove the differential box bearings.

2.
NOTE: The roll pin can be removed through the crankcase.
Remove the differential pinion shaft.
- Remove the pin and discard it as no longer needed.
- Remove the differential pinion shaft.

3. Remove the differential axle gears.
- 1. Turn the differential pinions 90 degrees and remove the differential pinions together with the thrust washers.
- 2. Remove the differential axle gears together with the thrust washers.

4. Clean all components thoroughly using a suitable solvent and dry with dry compressed air.
5. Inspect the differential components for damage and wear.
- Teeth and mounting holes of satellites
- Teeth and splines of axle gears
- Thrust washers
- Differential satellite axle
- Bearing and surfaces of the differential box
Assembly
1. Lubricate the gears and thrust washers with clean transmission fluid.

2. Install the differential satellites and thrust washers.
- 1. Install the differential axle gears and thrust washers.
- 2. Install the differential pinions and thrust washers by turning them 90 degrees.

3. Install the differential pinion shaft.
- 1. Install the satellite axle.
- 2. Install the new pin.

4. Using a special tool, install the differential box bearings.
