Disassembly

1. Remove pressure plate and reverse clutch discs.

• 1. Remove the reverse clutch pressure plate snap ring.
• 2. Remove pressure plate and clutch discs.

2. Using the special tool, remove the reverse clutch spring ring and retainer.




3. Remove the reverse clutch return spring.



4. Remove the reverse clutch piston assembly.

CAUTION: If the reverse clutch piston seals are damaged, install a new reverse clutch piston.

Inspect the seal installation hole, inner and outer seals.

Assembly

1. Before reassembly, soak the female clutch discs in clean automatic transmission fluid for 15 minutes.


2. Lubricate and install reverse clutch piston assembly.



3. Install the reverse clutch return spring.



4. Using the special tool, install the reverse clutch retainer and circlip.



5. Install the reverse clutch pressure plate snap ring. For more information, please refer to the Specifications chapter available in this section.

• 1. Install the reverse clutch discs and pressure plate.
• 2. Install the reverse clutch pressure plate snap ring.
