Compress the spring in such a way as to release its ends. You should pay special attention to that. so that the spring is correctly placed in the screw hooks. Spontaneous release of the spring from the device can lead to serious consequences, up to injury.
Loosen the upper suspension nut.
Remove the top column mount.
Remove the spring and dust cover. The column should not be further disassembled. The details of the column are shown in fig. 4.14.
Column Assembly
Insert the column into the compressed spring (the spring is compressed using tool MS-1516). Pay attention to the fact that the ends of the spring are correctly placed on the washers.
Install the rest of the parts and tighten the bolt nuts.
Install the top cup washer, keeping it in the correct mounting position.
Tighten the top nut.
Carefully release the spring and remove the spring compressor.
