Unscrew the nut of the upper mount of the suspension column. Do not remove the nut (Fig. 4.11), and while unscrewing it, hold the piston rod of the shock absorber located in the column with a hex key. There is a hex socket made in the top of the piston rod.
Unscrew the bracket securing the elastic brake hose from the column.
In a vehicle with a stabilizer, remove the stabilizer bar ball joint from the column.
Remove the complete brake caliper by unscrewing the bolts that secure it to the steering knuckle.
Hang the removed caliper on a wire. It is not allowed to hang the caliper on the brake hose.
Unscrew the clamp bolt securing the steering knuckle to the suspension column (Fig. 4.12).
Install tool 14-026 into the slots of the steering knuckle and turn 90°.
Pull the steering knuckle down and remove it from the column.
Unscrew and remove the upper column mounting nut. Remove the column. The new column should be installed in the reverse order. In doing so, strictly adhere to the recommended tightening torques for the bolts and nuts.
