Upper rear suspension arms (station wagon) — removal and installation

Warning: If suspension or steering fasteners are lost or unscrewed, they must be replaced with new ones, do not reuse them. Fasteners are replaced with new ones of the same design, quality and marking.

Withdrawal


1. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the vehicle, put it on stands Block the front wheels and remove the rear wheel.

2. Place a floor jack under the lower suspension arm and raise it to normal height.

3. Unscrew the brake hose bracket from the frame (see picture).



4. Loosen but do not remove the nut connecting the upper arm to the hub (see picture).



5. Loosen, but do not remove, the nut securing the lower arm to the shaft.

6. Remove the front and rear pivot bolts and nuts between the upper arm and frame.


7. Turn the knuckle and the drum brake unit outward and hang it on a wire so that it does not fall.

8. Unscrew the nut attaching the upper levers to the knuckle, disconnect the levers.

Installation


9. Connect the upper arms to the knuckle, tighten the new nut. Don't tighten it yet.

10. Position the upper arms in the frame brackets and install the pivot bolts and nuts, tightening them to the correct torque. Remove the wire.

11. Tighten to the required tightening torque the nut securing the knuckle to the upper arms.

12. Tighten the nut securing the lower arm to the knuckle to the required torque.

13. Attach the brake hose bracket to the frame, securely tighten the bolt.

14. Install the wheel. Lower the car, tighten the nuts to the required torque.

15. Check the convergence of the rear wheels and, if necessary, adjust.
