Replacing the upper arm of the rear suspension

You will need: socket head «at 15», spacer (see point 2).



1. Remove the rear suspension spring (cm. «Replacing the rear suspension spring»).



2. Install a spacer 113 mm high and 20 mm wide between the rear lower arm of the rear suspension and the upper spring plate, tighten it, loading the suspension (e.g. by jacking up the lever).

NOTE: Estate vehicles require a 184mm high, 20mm wide spacer.

3. Turn out bolts of fastening of the top lever to an arm of the longitudinal lever …




4.... and to the rear suspension cross member bracket..



5.... and remove the upper rear suspension arm.



6. Carefully inspect the lever, replace the deformed lever. Signs of wear of silent blocks are ruptures, one-sided bulging and delamination of rubber from a metal bushing. To replace the silent blocks, you will need pullers of the right size.

NOTE: Pay attention to the markings on the lever. When replacing, purchase the same lever.

7. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: After replacing the upper rear suspension arm, check and adjust wheel alignment if necessary. Use the services of workshops with special equipment.
