1. Remove the rear suspension spring (see "Replacing the rear suspension spring").
2. Remove the rear wheel hub and rear brake shield (see "Removing and installing the rear hub").
3. Unscrew the mounting bolt…
4. …and disconnect the parking brake cable from the trailing arm.
5. Remove the two mounting screws…
6. …and remove the protective shield.
7. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the holders on the lever (on vehicles equipped with ABS).
8. Install a 113mm high and 20mm wide spacer between the rear lower control arm and the upper spring plate, jack up the trailing arm to clamp the spacer.
NOTE: For station wagons, a 184mm high, 20mm wide spacer is required.
9. Remove the bolts securing the upper… to the longitudinal arm
10. …and the front lower arms.
11. Remove the front lower arm from the trailing arm eye.
12. Remove the rear lower arm (see "Replacing the rear lower control arm of the rear suspension").
13. Remove the two bolts securing the trailing arm brackets to the body and remove the rear suspension trailing arm.
14. Carefully inspect the lever, replace the deformed lever. Signs of wear of the silent block are breaks, one-sided bulging and peeling of the rubber from the metal bushing.
15. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: After replacing the rear trailing arm, check and adjust the wheel alignment if necessary. Use the services of workshops with special equipment.
