1. Remove the rear suspension spring (see Replacing the rear suspension spring).
2. Remove the rear wheel hub and rear brake shield (see Replacing the rear wheel hub).
3. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the trailing arm (see Replacing the rear parking brake cables).
4. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the holders on the lever.
5. Install a 226mm high and 40mm wide spacer between the rear lower control arm and the upper spring plate, jack up the trailing arm to clamp the spacer.
6. Unscrew the bolts securing the upper… to the longitudinal arm
7….and the front lower arms.
8. Remove the front lower arm from the trailing arm eye.
9. Remove the rear lower arm (see Replacing the rear lower control arm of the rear suspension).
10. Remove the two bolts securing the trailing arm brackets to the body and remove the rear suspension trailing arm.
11. Carefully inspect the lever, replace the deformed lever. Signs of wear of the silent block are breaks, one-sided bulging and peeling of the rubber from the metal bushing.
12. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: After replacing the rear trailing arm, check and adjust the wheel alignment if necessary (see Checking and adjusting wheel alignment angles). Use the services of workshops that have special equipment.
