Jet thrust and hinge pads (sedan) — removal and installation

Warning: If suspension or steering fasteners are lost or unscrewed, they must be replaced with new ones, do not reuse them. Fasteners are replaced with new ones of the same design, quality and marking.

Withdrawal


1. Loosen, but do not unscrew, the top nuts securing the strut to the body cup (see figure 11.1).

2. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the vehicle, jack it up securely Block the front wheels and remove the rear wheel.

3. Remove the large nut securing the tie rod to the knuckle (see picture). Keep the flat part of the rod from turning with a wrench. Remember the location of the washer and pillows.



4. Unscrew the large nut that secures the jet thrust to the body: remove the washer and under the lug. Hold the rod from turning by its flat part with a wrench. Fold the front pillows separately from the rear - they are not interchangeable (rear cushions branded).

5. Have an assistant guide the strut assembly to the rear of the vehicle. And you remove the jet thrust from the front support and remove it from the car.

Installation


6. Check for cracks and wear on the rubber pads. Replace if necessary.


7. Install belleville washers and inner pads on the ends of the tie rod, the concave part of the washer should be oriented towards the center.

8. Insert tie rod (with internal washers and pads installed) into the shaft. Have an assistant pull the strut block back to insert the front tie rod into the body support.

9. Install the outer pad washers and new nuts on the ends of the tie rod. So. so that the concave part of the washers "watched" out of the pillows (see picture). Raise the knuckle with a floor jack to normal height then tighten the nuts to the correct torque.



10. Install the wheel, tighten the nuts, lower the car. Tighten the support nuts to the required torque.

11. Tighten up to the required moment of inhaling the top nuts of fastening of a rack to a body cup.
