Warning: If suspension or steering fasteners are lost or loosened, they must be replaced with new ones; do not reuse them. Fasteners must be replaced with new ones of the same design, quality and marking.
1. Loosen the wheel nuts on the side where the replacement will be performed. Raise the car, securely support it on stands. Remove the wheel.
2. Unscrew the nut securing the reaction rod to the lever and remove the disc washer (see figure). Pay attention to how the washer is installed - when reinstalling it, its concave surface should face the hinge.
3. Unscrew the nut securing the jet rod to the engine subframe.
4. Unscrew the bolt and nut securing the lever to the subframe (see section 5).
5. Push the strut outward to separate the control arm from the cross frame, then push the strut back enough to allow the torque rod to be pulled out of the control arm.
Caution: Do not pull the struts too far back - you can damage the CV joint assembly.
6. Push the reaction rod out of the cross frame, paying attention to how the washers and elastic joints are installed. Check the elastic joints for hardening and cracks, replace them if necessary.
7. If the elastic joints require replacement, refer to the appropriate control arm replacement procedure (see section 5).
