Removal and installation of a head of the block of the engine 1.1

            0

To remove the head, follow these steps:

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery clamp.

Remove the air filter.

Disconnect the electrical connections of the carburetor or fuel injection device.

Drain the coolant from the cooling system. To do this, remove the lower flexible radiator hose. If the coolant has been in operation for less than two years and if it is free from contamination, it can be used in the future.

Disconnect the hoses from the thermostat housing.

Disconnect the hoses connecting the intake manifold to the vehicle's heater.

In a carburetor engine, disconnect the air damper rod from the carburetor.

Disconnect pedal link "gas".

Disconnect the fuel lines.

Remove the vacuum pipe that connects the intake manifold to the vacuum brake booster.

Remove the spark plug caps.

Disconnect all other electrical connections from the engine.

Remove the bolts securing the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.

Remove the block head cover.

Unscrew the bolts securing the axis of the valve levers. Take out the axle together with the valve levers (do not disassemble this subassembly).

Remove the push rods and save with the appropriate mounting markings. The bars must be mounted together with the pushers and levers with which they previously interacted.

Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the block head. If the head of the block is strongly "stuck" to the gasket, remove it with light blows with a plastic hammer. Under no circumstances should any tools be inserted between the head of the block and the engine housing. If there is water or oil in the cylinders, remove them.

The block head is installed in reverse order. When carrying out this operation, the section on assembling the engine 1.1 may be useful.

Fill and bleed the engine cooling system (see section 2.8 "Cooling system").
