Dismantling of a head of the block of the petrol engine

            0

Remove the intake manifold.

Remove the exhaust manifold.

Remove the ignition distributor.

Unscrew the thermostat housing.

Unscrew the valve levers (this applies to 1.4i/1.6i engines) from support rods. Fold and store the levers in such a way that during assembly they will be in the same places.

Squeezing the valve springs in turn with special tongs, remove the lock crackers (pic. 2.69).

After releasing the springs, remove the valve parts. Remove the valve stem seals and also remove the spring plates.

Take out the hydraulic tappets (this applies to 1.4i/1.6i engines) and save accordingly (i.e. installed in the mounting position, vertically).

Note: save the removed parts in such a way that during subsequent installation they are in the same places from which they were removed (collect with each other parts that previously interacted with each other).

Remove the camshaft thrust plate.

Remove the camshaft from its bearing bores.

Remove the valves and their guides. If necessary, before performing this operation, remove the carbon deposits that have settled on the ends of the valve stems.
