Lower arm rear suspension (station wagon) — removal and installation

Warning: If suspension or steering fasteners are lost or unscrewed, they must be replaced with new ones, do not reuse them. Fasteners are replaced with new ones of the same design, quality and marking.

Withdrawal


1. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the car, place it on stands. Block the front wheels and remove the rear wheel.

2. Following the procedure described in section 18, remove the coil spring.

3. Unscrew the nut and bolt securing the lower arm to the frame, lower the arm down (see picture).


19.3. Remove the pivot bolt and nut securing the lower control arm to the frame.
1. Lower suspension arm.
2. Unscrew the bolt and nut.


Installation


4. Place the lower arm in the support bracket, tighten the bolt and nut so that the head of the bolt points towards the front of the vehicle. Do not tighten the nut.

5. Install the coil spring (section 18).

6. Tighten the nut and bolt securing the lower arm to the frame to the correct torque, while ensuring that the lower arm is at normal height.

7. Install the wheel and nuts, lower the car. Tighten the nuts to the required tightening torque.
