Removal and installation of bumper pads

            0

Models up to mid-1990 (all models except GHIA)

1. Remove bumper.

2. Remove the old bumper cover.

3. Clean any remaining adhesive from the groove for the trim in the bumper. Rinse the groove with methyl alcohol and dry it.

4. Apply a thin and even layer of adhesive primer into the groove and allow it to dry. The primer is supplied with a new lining.

5. Slightly warm up the new lining. Do not roll the trim into rings with a diameter of less than 300 mm.

6. Remove the protective film from the cover. Insert the edge of the trim into the groove at one end of the trim groove in the bumper to a depth of 10mm. Press the trim into the groove along the bumper and insert the other end into the groove at the other end of the bumper.

Attention! Do not cut the pads, as their ends are sealed against moisture penetration.

7. Install bumper.

GHIA models and all models since mid-1990

The differences in removing and installing overlays are as follows:
  • in addition to glue, the lining is fastened with stud nuts;
  • adhesive tape for gluing the overlay is supplied separately from the overlay.
