1. Clean the outer surface of the torque converter.

2. Install the special tool on the torque converter hub.

5. While applying air pressure to the valve, inspect the converter hub, seams, and studs for leaks. A soap solution can be applied around these areas to aid in diagnosis. If any leaks are present, install a new converter.
