Special tool
 | Torque Converter Leak Test Tool and Gasket 307-421 |
1. Clean the outer surface of the torque converter.
2. Install the special tool on the torque converter hub.

WARNING: Always follow safety precautions when using the press. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
Install the torque converter together with the special tool into the arbor press.
- Secure the press. Apply sufficient press force to insert the tool into the torque converter.

CAUTION: Use only clean, dry air.
Using a special tool, apply air pressure.
5. While applying air pressure to the valve, inspect the converter hub, seams, and studs for leaks. A soap solution can be applied around these areas to aid in diagnosis. If any leaks are present, install a new converter.
6. Remove the air hose. Release the pressure and then slowly release the press. Remove the torque converter. Remove the tool.
