Checking the torque of the drive gear

Clamp the steering mechanism in a vise, the drive gear cover must be directed upwards. Tighten the cover fastening bolts to a torque of 0.6-0.9 kgf·m. Measure the torque of the gear with the dynamometer 15.041 (fig 5.9).



At a rotation speed of 4 rpm, the torque should be in the range of 6-13 kgf·m. Otherwise, check the correct installation and the presence of all parts of the steering mechanism.
