Checking the tightening torque of wheel nuts (every 20,000 km or 12 months) (Transit 2)

Please note: Cars manufactured before 1992 with six-stud wheels have left-hand threaded nuts on the left side (unscrew clockwise). Since 1992, nuts with normal right-hand threads have been installed on both sides.


1. Apply the parking brake.

2. If present, remove the wheel trims.

3. Tighten the wheel nuts, if necessary, to the tightening torque specified in the specification (see Figure 32.3).

4. Replace the decorative wheel covers.
