1. With the vehicle supported on supports or in an inspection pit, conduct a full inspection of the underbody and wheel arches for damage and corrosion. In particular, inspect the underside of the side door sills, as well as any hidden areas where dirt may accumulate. If corrosion or rust is noticed, place a screwdriver on the panel and tap it lightly to check how severe the damage is. If the upholstery is not seriously damaged, clean out the rust and coat the underbody of the car with a new coat of anti-corrosion coating. If repairs are required, please contact Chapter 11 for details.
2. At the same time, inspect the lower body panels covered with PVC for stone damage and deterioration of general condition.
3. Inspect all fuel and brake lines running along the underbody for damage, looking for rust, corrosion, or leaks. Also check that the supporting clamps are correct and secure. Make sure that the PVC coating on the tubes, if present, is not damaged.
