1. With the front wheels blocked, jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on jack stands so that the wheels can rotate freely.

2. Lubricate the handbrake lever pivot bolt, the cable tension adjuster threads, and the cable itself in the compensator assembly with a universal grease (see Figure 26.2).
