Kingpin and steering bush lubrication — models with independent front suspension (every 20,000 km or 12 months) (Transit 2)

1. With the parking brake applied, jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands so that the wheels can rotate freely.

2. Clean the surfaces adjacent to the two grease fittings (on the top and bottom covers) kingpin (see Figure 21.2).



3. Fill the grease gun with the recommended brand of grease and press the tip of the grease gun onto the grease fitting until it stops.

4. Squeeze the grease from the syringe until it appears on the kingpin bushings.

5. Repeat the procedure for the other hole, then lower the vehicle to the ground.
