Lubrication of the sliding joint of the overdrive transmission and the propeller shaft (every 20,000 km or 12 months) (Transit 2)

1. Apply the parking brake, then jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.

2. Clean all surfaces adjacent to the grease fittings on the cardan shaft side of the sliding joint (see Figure 24.2).

3. Fill the grease gun with the recommended quality grease, press the tip of the gun onto the grease gun and pump the gun a couple of times to lubricate the internal sliding grooves.

4. Lower the vehicle to the ground after lubrication is complete.
