Parking brake (Mondeo 3)

            0

The parking brake prevents your stopped Mondeo from unintentionally "trying to move", especially on sloping sections. The parking brake mechanism acts mechanically on the rear wheels via the handbrake lever with a cable pull. The installed lever causes a "chain reaction": it tightens the cable pull, acts on the brake caliper of the pivot arm and ultimately acts on the adjustment stops. To automatically equalize the degree of wear of the linings, adjustment mechanisms are installed in the rear calipers. The traction mechanism is adjusted by pulling the handbrake several times in succession.
