Parking brake

With the parking brake, you protect your stopped Mondeo from unintentional «movement attempts», especially in sloping areas. The parking brake mechanically acts on the rear wheels via a cable-operated handbrake lever. The installed lever causes «chain reaction»: it tightens the cable tie, acts on the brake caliper of the swing arm and finally acts on the adjustment stops. Adjusting mechanisms are mounted in the rear calipers to automatically level the degree of wear of the linings. The traction mechanism is regulated by the fact that you need to pull the hand brake several times in succession.
