Dismantling and installation of the brake booster (Mondeo 3)

Before dismantling the master cylinder, make sure that there is no low pressure in the brake booster. To do this, disconnect either the low-pressure line from the booster, or "pump" the brake pedal with the engine stopped until the force on the pedal becomes "noticeable".

ORDER OF EXECUTION

Remove the master cylinder as described above. The brake fluid reservoir remains installed on it.
Remove the shock absorber bearing cap and...
...remove the bearing from the reinforcement holder.
Unscrew the reinforcement holder from the fairing and side wall.
Unscrew the nut (indicated by the arrow) on the brake booster working rod.

Unscrew the amplifier (four nuts are indicated by arrows) and remove it from the engine compartment.

Unscrew the nuts indicated by the arrows.
Complete the installation in reverse order. Check the new amplifier first: models with EVA do not have a standard amplifier!

PRACTICAL ADVICE

This is how brake fluid is "stopped"

If you remove the brake line (brake hose), the brake fluid will slowly drain from the expansion tank. If not, before starting work, release the purge plug of the corresponding brake circuit and put on the air bleed hose. Insert the free end of the hose into a clean container and depress the brake pedal until it stops. Then fix the position of the brake pedal on the base of the body with a wooden block or a suitable weight. Now close the inlet holes in the master cylinder - the brake fluid will no longer be able to escape.
