Planetary gear assembly — disassembly and assembly (Focus 1)

Disassembly

1. Inspect the planetary gear inner bearing for damage.



2. Remove the retaining ring.



3. Remove the rear stage of the planetary gear.



4. Remove the thrust bearing.



5. Remove the forward planetary gear sun gear.





6. Remove the thrust bearing.



7. Remove the forward planetary gear assembly.



8. Inspect the low and reverse gear ring gear.



9. Remove the upper locking pin of the single-acting clutch.





10. Remove the upper ring of the single-acting clutch.



11. Remove the low gear one-way clutch assembly.



12. Remove the lower ring of the single-acting clutch.

Assembly

1. Install the lower ring of the single-acting clutch.



2. Inspect the rollers and springs of the single-acting clutch assembly.



3. The single-acting coupling assembly should be installed so that the protrusion faces in the direction shown.



4. Install the low range one-way clutch assembly.



5. Install the upper ring of the single-acting clutch.





6. Install the upper locking pin of the single-acting clutch.



7. Install the forward planetary gear assembly.

NOTE: Make sure the locking elements are facing down.

Install the thrust bearing.



9. Inspect the forward planetary gear sun gear retaining ring.





10. Install the forward planetary gear sun gear.

NOTE: Make sure the locking element is facing down.

Install the thrust bearing.



12. Install the rear planetary gear assembly.



13. Install the retaining ring.
