Torque converter

A new torque converter should be installed if one or more of the following statements is true:

• Based on the development of diagnostic procedures, incorrect functioning of the torque converter was recorded.
• Damaged impeller hub or bushing.
• If there is a discoloration of the torque converter (due to overheating).
• When performing the following checks, it is determined that the characteristics of the torque converter are out of specification:
  • Checking the axial clearance of the torque converter
  • Checking for leaks in the torque converter
• If there is evidence of transaxle damage or transmission fluid contamination due to the following transaxle or torque converter problems:
  • major metal defect
  • malfunctions of multi-plate clutches or discs
  • element wear that results in metal particle contamination
