Withdrawal

1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

2. Place a drain pan under the output shaft speed sensor (OSS).

3. Remove the OSS sensor.

• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Turn out a bolt.
• Inspect the channel for the OSS sensor.

4. Inspect the O-ring for cracks or cuts; install a new ring if necessary.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the O-ring before installing it.

NOTE: Apply thread sealant to the bolt.

Install the OSS sensor. Connect the electrical connector.



2. Lower the car.

3. Check the transmission fluid level, add transmission fluid if necessary.



4. Start the engine and move the manual gear lever through all ranges.
