1. Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Place wedges under the front wheels and raise the rear of the car.
3. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter.
4. To relieve pressure in the fuel system, slowly loosen the coupling connecting the inlet or outlet hose to the filter. After relieving pressure in the system, completely unscrew the fuel hoses from the filter.

5. Unscrew the filter mounting bolt (indicated by the arrow) and remove the fuel filter.
Diesel engine
Removal water from the fuel filter
Caution! If diesel fuel gets on the hoses, wipe them off immediately.
1. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter water drain plug.

2. Loosen the drain plug (indicated by the arrow) and drain approximately 100 dm³ of the fuel-water mixture and, after clean fuel appears, screw the plug back on.
3. If the fuel does not flow out after opening the drain plug, unscrew the plug on the outlet pipe.
Replacing the fuel filter
1. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter.
2. Unscrew the fuel inlet and outlet hoses from the filter holder and plug them with plugs.
3. Unscrew the fuel filter.
4. Replace the fuel filter and fill completely with fuel.
5. Replace the sealing rings and screw on the fuel filter.
6. Remove air from the fuel system.
Removal air from the fuel system
1. Place a suitable container under the fuel filter.
2. Unscrew the air bleed plug on the outlet pipe.
3. Unscrew the cap covering the handle of the hand pump and pump until fuel free of air bubbles begins to emerge from under the air bleed plug.
4. In the pumping mode, screw in the air bleed plug using a hand pump.
5. Start the engine and warm it up.
6. If the engine does not start, loosen the fastening of the high-pressure pipes of the first and second cylinders and turn the engine with the starter until the first sparks appear in the cylinders, then tighten the pipes to a torque of 20 Nm.
