Replacement of brake hoses

            0

Four brake hoses are used on a car: two (rear) for connecting pipelines to the working cylinders of the rear brake mechanisms and two (front) for connecting pipelines to the working cylinders of the front brake mechanisms.

You will need: key «at 17» …

…special wrenches for brake pipes «at 11», «at 14», pliers.

Note. Always use special wrenches to loosen tube nuts, as the nuts are overtightened and usually corroded, as a result of which, when using ordinary wrenches, the edges of the nuts are crushed.

Note. Operation is shown using the front hose as an example. The rear hoses, which have a similar design, are replaced with almost the same methods.

1. For ease of operation, remove the front wheel from the side of the hose being replaced.

2. Pry with a screwdriver..

3.... and remove the clamp securing the hose to the bracket on the shock absorber strut..

4.... and remove the hose holder from the bracket.

5. Turn away a nut of fastening of a tube and disconnect a tube.

6. Remove the clamp securing the hose to the bracket on the body by prying it with a screwdriver.

Note. To prevent complete leakage of fluid from the hydraulic actuator, immediately plug the tube opening in any way possible. Protective valve caps for venting valves are very well suited for this purpose.

7. Remove the hose tip from the bracket hole on the body.

8. Unscrew the lower end of the hose from the caliper, holding the hose with the second key from turning..

9.... and remove the hose.

10. Install the new hose in the reverse order of removal.

Attention! Make sure that the hose is not twisted when installing along the axis.

11. Similarly replace other hoses.

12. After replacing the hoses, bleed the air from the brake system (see «Bleeding the hydraulic drive of the brake system»).
