Replacing the vacuum brake booster

            0

You will need: keys «at 13», «at 17», end head «at 13», pliers, flat blade screwdriver…

…special wrench for brake lines «on 10».

Note. Due to the fact that the length and shape of the brake pipelines do not allow the brake master cylinder to be pulled forward by disconnecting it from the vacuum brake booster, so that the booster can be removed, it is necessary to remove the booster assembly with the master cylinder.

1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.

2. Remove the windshield wiper (see «Removal and installation of a windscreen wiper trapezoid assembly with a gearmotor»).

3. Remove the reservoir cap and pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir, for example, with a large medical syringe (see «Replacing the reservoir of the main brake cylinder»).

4. Disconnect the harness connector from the brake fluid level sensor and the hose to the clutch release master cylinder from the brake master cylinder reservoir (see «Replacing the reservoir of the main brake cylinder»).

5. Turn away nuts of fastening of two pipelines to the main brake cylinder …

6....and move the pipes aside.

Note. Plug the pipelines in any way possible (for example, by putting protective caps on the ends of the valves to release air), to prevent leakage of brake fluid.

7. Pry off the tip of the vacuum hose with a screwdriver and remove the tip from the sealing sleeve of the hole in the amplifier housing.

8. Turn out the lower..

9.... and the upper bolts for fastening the bracket of the hydroelectronic block of the anti-lock braking system to the body panels.

10. In the passenger compartment under the instrument panel, squeeze the clamps of the brake booster pusher fork pin with a screwdriver..

11....and remove your finger from the fork and pedal holes.

12. Unscrew the four nuts securing the vacuum booster to the bulkhead, simultaneously securing the pedal bracket..

13.... and remove the vacuum booster assembly with the main brake cylinder.

14. In case of replacing the vacuum booster, remove the sealing gasket from the studs of its fastening and install it on the new booster.

Note. Replace a heavily compressed or torn gasket.

15. Turn away two nuts of fastening to the amplifier of the main brake cylinder, remove the cylinder and establish it on the new amplifier (see «Replacing the master brake cylinder»).

16. Install the brake booster and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal, fill in brake fluid and bleed air from the system (see «Bleeding the hydraulic drive of the brake system»).
