…a special key for brake pipes "for 14", a key for wheel nuts, a container for draining brake fluid.

1. Remove the wheel from the side of the caliper being replaced.

2. Loosen the lower end of the brake hose.

3. Remove the two bolts securing the shoe guide to the steering knuckle…

4. ...and disconnect the caliper from the knuckle.

5. Disconnect the caliper from the brake hose by unscrewing it from the hose tip and remove the caliper assembly from the pad guide.

Note: Place a container underneath to catch any remaining brake fluid from the hose and the caliper working cylinder.


6. Install the caliper in the reverse order of removal. Apply anaerobic thread locking compound to the threads before installing the shoe guide bolts to the steering knuckle. Tighten the brake hose tip completely before installing the caliper on the steering knuckle. When installing the caliper, make sure that the hose is not twisted. After installation, restore the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir and bleed the brake hydraulic system (see "Bleeding the hydraulic brake system").
