1. For ease of work, remove the front wheel on the side of the hose being replaced.
2. Loosen the lower hose end.
3. Remove the rubber hose holder from the slot in the bracket on the front suspension shock absorber strut.
4. Unscrew the nut securing the tube to the upper end of the hose, holding the hose from turning with a second wrench.
5. Move the brake pipe down, remove the spring retainer of the upper end of the hose and remove the end from the bracket hole on the body.
HELPFUL TIP: To prevent the hydraulic fluid from completely leaking out, immediately plug the tube opening using any available method. Air bleed valve protective caps are very good for this purpose.
6. Unscrew the lower end of the hose from the front wheel brake slave cylinder and remove the hose.
7. Install the new hose in the reverse order of removal.
WARNING: Make sure that the hose is not twisted along the axis when installed.
8. Replace the second front hose in the same way.
9. After replacing the hoses, bleed the air from the brake system (see Bleeding the hydraulic brake system).
To replace the rear brake hose, follow these steps:.
1. For ease of work, remove the rear wheel from the side of the hose being replaced.
2. Loosen the rear hose end.
3. Loosen the nut securing the tube to the front end of the hose, holding the hose from turning with a second wrench.
4. Move the brake pipe forward, remove the spring retainer of the rear end of the hose and remove the end from the bracket hole on the rear suspension cross member.
HELPFUL TIP: To prevent the hydraulic fluid from completely leaking out, immediately plug the tube opening using any available method. Air bleed valve protective caps are very good for this purpose.
5. Unscrew the rear end of the hose from the rear wheel brake slave cylinder and remove the hose.
6. Install the new hose in the reverse order of removal.
WARNING: Make sure that the hose is not twisted along the axis when installed.
7. Replace the second rear hose in the same way.
8. After replacing the hoses, bleed the air from the brake system (see Bleeding the hydraulic brake system).
