You will need: a 13 mm socket head, fine-nosed pliers, and a thin-bladed screwdriver.
NOTE: For clarity, the work is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.

1. Using a screwdriver, press the locking device of the wiring harness block of the speed control system switch (cruise control)…

2….disconnect the block from the switch.

3. Press the locking button on the brake light switch wiring harness connector…

4….disconnect the block from the switch.
NOTE: If the brake pedal is removed for replacement, the cruise control and brake light switches will have to be relocated to the new pedal. For ease of operation, it is better to remove them directly from the vehicle.

To remove the cruise control switch, turn it counterclockwise…

…and remove from the pedal bracket.

Similarly, remove the brake light switch by turning it clockwise.

5. Remove the accelerator pedal from the brake pedal bracket (see Removing and installing the throttle pedal).

6. Unscrew the five nuts securing the brake pedal bracket to the front shield and remove the wiring harness from the two holders on the bracket (shown by arrows in the photo).

This is how the nuts securing the brake pedal bracket to the front shield are located. The four lower nuts simultaneously secure the brake booster to the front shield.

7. Use pliers to squeeze the two clamps of the brake booster push rod fork…
NOTE: Only one retainer is visible in the photo. The second retainer is located on the opposite side of the pin.

8….remove the pin from the fork and pedal holes…

9….and remove the brake pedal.

10. Install the brake pedal and removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
