Removing and installing the throttle pedal (Mondeo 4)

The throttle control pedal is removed for replacement if it fails.

You will need a 10mm socket head.

NOTE: For clarity, the work is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.


1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Squeeze the throttle pedal control wire harness connector clips…

3….and disconnect the block from the pedal terminals.

4. Unscrew the three nuts securing the throttle pedal to the front shield…

5….and remove the pedal from the studs.

NOTE: Pay attention to the pedal markings.


Purchase a new pedal with the same markings.

6. Install the throttle pedal in the reverse order of removal.
