Removing and installing the throttle pedal (Focus 2)

The throttle control pedal is removed for replacement if it fails, and also when replacing the air filter entering the passenger compartment to ensure access to it.

You will need a 10mm socket head.

NOTE: For clarity, the work is shown with the instrument panel and steering column bracket removed.

1. Remove the three nuts securing the throttle pedal to the pedal assembly bracket…



2. …and remove the pedal body from the bracket studs.



3. Squeeze the throttle pedal control wire harness connector clips…





4. …disconnect the shoe from the pedal and remove the pedal.

NOTE: Pay attention to the markings on the pedal. Purchase a new pedal with the same markings.

5. Install the throttle pedal in the reverse order of removal.
