If the fuel pump screen is often clogged, remove and flush the tank.
USEFUL ADVICE: It is more convenient to remove an empty tank while working on a lift, overpass or inspection ditch. For removing fuel residues after disconnecting the connecting hose of the filling pipe from the tank nozzle (see paragraphs below. 7 and 8) pump out the fuel through the opened hole in the tank.
You will need: wrenches "10", TORX T20 and T30, socket "13", pliers with thin jaws, a screwdriver with a flat blade.
1. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see Reducing the pressure in the engine supply system).
2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
3. Remove the thermal screen of the main muffler (see Removing and installing thermal shields).
4. Pry the line clamps to the adsorber and pressure line..
5….and disconnect the hoses.
6. Break the clamp that secures the connecting hose of the filler pipe to the fuel tank pipe and disconnect the hose from the pipe.
NOTE: The clamp for fastening the connecting hose of the filling pipe to the fuel tank nozzle is disposable; if the connection is depressurized, replace it with a new one.
7. Overcoming resistance of latches of a protective guard of a fuel tank, remove a protective guard.
8. Press the fuel tank wiring harness retainer..
9.... and disconnect the block.
10. Place a secure support under the tank.
11. Turn out bolts of two collars of fastening of a fuel tank and remove it.
12. Install the fuel tank in the reverse order of removal.
