Fuel tank (Escort 3)

The fuel tank is stamped from sheet steel and is installed under the body floor in front of the rear suspension. The fuel tank capacity is 34 litres for vehicles with the GLA engine, 40 litres for vehicles with other engines (48 litres from May 1983).

The fuel used is gasoline with an octane rating of at least 85 for the GMA engine, 95 for other engines. When the remaining fuel is 8 liters, the control lamp lights up in the instrument cluster.
