The fuel-air mixture for the GLA, GMA, GPA, JPA and LPA engines is prepared by single-chamber Ford carburetors, for the LUA engine by a two-chamber Weber carburetor, and for the LRA and L7 engines by the K-Jetronic fuel injection system from Bosch.

Features of the device


The fuel-air mixture enters the combustion chambers of the engine from the carburetor. Fuel is supplied to the carburetor by a fuel pump from the fuel tank, and air comes from the atmosphere through an air filter with a thermostat. The throttle control drive is foot-operated, cable-operated; air damper - semi-automatic starting device (on GLA, GMA and GPA models since July 1983 manual drive). Carburetors of engines of all models, except GLA and GMA, are equipped with a thermal vacuum device for controlling mixture formation and ignition advance angle at accelerated idle speed (Fig. 2.73).
