1. Disconnect the coolant expansion tank from the wheel arch and place it aside.
  • 1. Remove the bolt.
  • 2. Disconnect the expansion tank of the cooling system.

2. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir from the wheel arch.

3.
NOTE: Using a suitable plug, plug the power steering fluid reservoir.

Disconnect the power steering fluid cooler return line from the power steering fluid reservoir. Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4. Place the end of the power steering fluid cooler return line in a suitable container.

5. Remove the spark plugs.

6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

7. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor (CSP) connector.

8.
NOTE: Lower the vehicle enough to raise the vehicle's wheels off the floor to allow the steering wheel to turn lock to lock.

Lower the car.

9.
NOTE: When adding power steering fluid to the reservoir, make sure the fluid is clean. Do not shake the fluid before using it. To reduce the level of air in the fluid, pour it into the reservoir slowly. The fluid level should be checked when the fluid is cold.

Fill the power steering reservoir with working fluid up to the MAX mark.

10.
CAUTION: Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds, as this may damage the starter.

NOTE: When flushing the power steering system, make sure that the power steering fluid level in the reservoir does not fall below the minimum mark.

While cranking the engine for a period of time not exceeding 30 seconds, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. With the help of another technician, add 1 quart of clean fluid, such as power steering fluid.

11. Wait 60 seconds to allow the starter to cool.

12.
CAUTION: Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds, as this may damage the starter.

NOTE: When flushing the power steering system, make sure that the power steering fluid level in the reservoir does not fall below the minimum mark.

While cranking the engine for the next 30 seconds, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. With the help of another technician, add 1 quart of clean fluid, such as power steering fluid.

13. After all the fluid has been poured, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.

14. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

15. Connect the CKP sensor plug connector.

16. Lower the vehicle.

17.
NOTE: Remove the cap from the power steering fluid reservoir.

Connect the power steering fluid cooler return line to the power steering fluid reservoir.

18. Secure the power steering fluid reservoir to the wheel arch.

19. Secure the expansion tank of the cooling system to the wheel arch.
  • 1. Secure the expansion tank of the cooling system.
  • 2.Install the bolt.

20. Install the spark plugs.

21.
NOTE: When pouring the working fluid into the reservoir, make sure the fluid is clean. Do not shake it before use. The fluid should be poured into the reservoir slowly to minimize the possibility of it becoming saturated with gas. The fluid level should be checked when the fluid is cold.

Fill the tank with liquid up to the "MAX" mark.

22. Start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and the other.

23. Turn off the engine.

24. Check the fluid level. If necessary, add the required amount of working fluid.
