Power Steering System Flushing — 1.8L Diesel (75 PS/90 PS)

1. Disconnect a broad tank of system of cooling from a wheel arch and place aside.
  • 1. Remove the bolt.
  • 2. Disconnect the expansion tank of the cooling system.



2. Disconnect the power steering reservoir from the wheel arch.

NOTE: Using a suitable plug, plug the power steering reservoir.


Disconnect the power steering fluid cooler return line from the power steering reservoir.



4. Place the end of the power steering fluid cooler return line in a suitable container.


5. Remove the air inlet and outlet pipes.



6. Disconnect the intercooler duct from the grille opening panel.



7. Disconnect the plug connector of the air intake temperature sensor (IAT).



8. Remove the intercooler.

CAUTION: Insulate the glow plugs to prevent damage to the glow plug connectors.



Remove the preheat relay fuse from the battery electrical junction box (BJB).



10. Disconnect the plug connectors for the glow plugs.



11. Remove glow plugs.



12. Disconnect the high pressure fuel pump connector.
  • 1.Pull out the lock lever.
  • 2.Disconnect the plug connector.

NOTE: The vehicle must be raised so that the wheels are free and the steering wheel can be turned from lock to lock.



Raise and support the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

NOTE: When pouring working fluid into the reservoir, make sure the fluid is clean. Do not shake it before use. Fluid should be poured slowly into the reservoir to minimize the possibility of gas saturation. The fluid level should be checked when the fluid is cold.


Pour the working fluid into the tank up to the mark "MAX".

CAUTION: Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds as this could damage the starter.


When cranking the engine for a period of time not exceeding 30 seconds, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. With the help of another technician, add 1 liter of clean power steering fluid.

16. Wait 60 seconds to allow the starter to cool down.

CAUTION: Do not crank the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds as this could damage the starter.


When turning the engine over the next 30 seconds, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock. With the help of another technician, add 1 liter of clean power steering fluid.

18. After all the liquid has been filled, turn the ignition switch to the position "OFF" ("off").

19. Remove the plug from the power steering fluid reservoir and connect the power steering fluid cooler return line.



20. Fix a reservoir of the amplifier of a steering in a wheel arch.




21. Fix a broad tank of system of cooling in a wheel arch.
  • 1.Fix the expansion tank of the cooling system.
  • 2.Install the bolt.



22. Connect the high pressure fuel pump connector.
  • 1.Connect the plug.
  • 2.Press the lock lever.



23. Install glow plugs.



24. Connect the plug connectors of the glow plugs.



25. Install the preheat relay fuse.



26. Install the intercooler.



27. Connect the IAT sensor connector.



28. Connect the intercooler air duct to the grille hole panel.



29. Install the air inlet and outlet piping.



30. Add working fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. For more information, refer to the Power Steering System Bleeding chapter found in this section.

31. Lower the car.
