Replacing the needle valve (Escort 3)

Disconnect the negative cable from the battery and remove the air filter. Remove the carburetor cover. Remove the float shaft, setting the float in a position where it does not touch the needle valve.

It is impossible to remove the float without removing the main fuel jet seat. Remove the needle valve using long-nose tweezers. Install a new needle valve and float with an axis. Adjust the position of the needle valve so that the spring presses the needle against the float when the float chamber is filled with gasoline. Install the carburetor cover.

Install the air filter and connect the battery. Check the idle speed and CO content in the exhaust gases.
