You will need: 13 and 17 mm wrenches, a flat-blade screwdriver.
1. In the car interior, remove the floor tunnel trim (see Removing and installing floor tunnel lining).
2. Using a screwdriver, pry up the stop tab on the parking brake lever…
3….straighten the antennae…
4….and remove the front cable end from the leash groove.
5. Place the vehicle on a lift or inspection pit.
6. Disconnect the intake pipe of the additional muffler from the exhaust pipe (see Removal and installation of main and additional mufflers), remove the muffler suspension cushions from the brackets and lower the muffler down, resting the intermediate pipe on the rear suspension crossmember.
7. Remove the heat shield of the additional muffler (see Removing and installing heat shields).
8. Completely unscrew the adjusting nut 3 (see Fig. 9.6) from the threaded end of the front drive cable 4 and then unscrew the lock nut from the end.
9. Remove equalizer 2 from the front cable end together with rear drive cables 1 and 5.
10. Remove the front parking brake cable by pulling it down through the hole seal in the base of the body.
11. Install the front parking brake cable and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
12. Adjust the parking brake drive (see Adjusting the Parking Brake Drive).
