Replacing the front parking brake cable

Replace the front parking brake cable if it is overstretched (impossibility of adjusting the parking brake), mechanical damage to the cores of the cable or threaded tip.

You will need: key «on 10», screwdrivers with flat and Phillips blades.

1. Remove the parking brake lever (cm. «Removal and installation of the parking brake lever»).

2. Remove the thermal screen of the additional muffler (cm. «Removal and installation of thermal screens»).



3. Slide back the lower end of the cable in the equalizer..



4.... and, turning the cable down, remove its tip from the equalizer.



5. Pry off the front edge of the front parking brake cable seal with a screwdriver..



6.... pulling the antennae..



7.... remove the seal from the hole in the base of the body and remove the cable into the passenger compartment.

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

9. Adjust the parking brake (cm. «Parking brake actuator adjustment»).
