You will need: keys "8", "10", "13", a screwdriver with a flat blade.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the floor tunnel lining (see "Removing and installing the floor tunnel lining").
NOTE: Driver's seat has been removed for clarity. It is not necessary to remove the seat to gain access to the trim fasteners and parking brake lever.

3. Lower the parking brake lever down to the stop, completely unscrew and remove the lock nut from the threaded end of the front cable…

4. …adjusting nut…

5. …and a flat washer.

6. Use a screwdriver to bend back the retainer of the front parking brake cable housing.

7. Loosen the bolt securing the brake system status indicator light and parking brake switch to the parking brake drive lever bracket…

8. …push the wiring harness connector lock with a screwdriver…

9. …disconnect the connector and remove the switch.

10. Remove the three bolts securing the parking brake lever to the body base…

11. …lift the lever and use a screwdriver to push the cable tip out of the guide in the lever…

12. …and remove the lever.
13. Before installing on the vehicle, lubricate the toothed sector of the lever with consistent grease.
14. Install the lever in the reverse order of removal and adjust the parking brake system (see "Adjusting the Parking Brake Drive").
