You will need: 10 and 14 mm wrenches, a welding clamp with a lock, and a lug wrench.
1. Engage first gear and place chocks under the front wheels.
2. Remove the corresponding rear wheel.
3. Clean the brake hose attachment point and the working cylinder mounting bolts from dirt on the back side of the brake shield.
4. Remove the brake drum (see "Removing and installing the brake drum").
5. Remove the brake pads (see "Replacing the rear wheel brake pads").
USEFUL TIP: If you have some experience, you don't have to remove the brake pads. Raise the parking brake lever - the upper ends of the pads will move away from the piston stops.
6. Clamp the brake hose with a welding clamp to prevent brake fluid from leaking from the hydraulic system when removing the slave cylinder.
7. Loosen the brake hose tip.
8. Unscrew the bolts securing the working cylinder, holding the cylinder on the other side…
9. …and push the cylinder into the hole in the brake shield.
10. Holding the hose tip with your hand, unscrew the slave cylinder from the tip.
11. Install the slave cylinder in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION: Tighten the brake hose end to the maximum torque before bolting the slave cylinder to the brake shield. When installing the slave cylinder, make sure that the hose is not twisted.
12. Install the brake pads if they were removed (see "Replacing the rear wheel brake pads").
13. Install the brake drum (see "Removing and installing the brake drum").
14. Remove air from the brake system (see "Bleeding the hydraulic brake system").
15. Press the brake pedal sharply several times to bring the brake shoes to the drum.
