Parking brake lever
Removal
1. With the front wheels locked, release the parking brake completely.
2. Using a hook, separate the protective cover of the parking brake lever from the floor and remove it up the lever (see Figure 15.2.).

3. Pull out the spring clip, then pull out the pin with the head and hole for the cotter pin from the connection of the lever to the rod.
4. Unscrew the bolts securing the lever to the bottom and remove the lever (see Figure 15.4.).
Installation
5. Install in the reverse order of removal. Replace the pin with a new one if it is excessively worn (and also a spring clip if necessary), and lubricate the cotter pin after installation. Upon completion, check and, if necessary, adjust the parking brake as described in Section 14.

6. With the front wheels blocked, release the parking brake, then raise the rear of the vehicle and place it on supports.
7. With the parking brake fully released, disconnect the drive rod from the rocker arm by removing the spring clip and the pin with a head and a hole for the cotter pin (see Figure 15.7.).

8. Separate the drive rod from the parking brake cable equalizer by removing the spring clip and the pin with a head and a hole for a cotter pin. Remove the drive rod.
Installation
9. Install in the reverse order of removal. Replace the pins with new ones if they are excessively worn, and the spring clips if necessary. Lubricate the pins after installation.
10. Upon completion, check and, if necessary, adjust the parking brake as described in Section 14.
