Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Place a drain pan under the alternator, then disconnect the vacuum hose, pressure oil line, and drain oil line from the rear of the pump (see Figure 13.2).

3. Remove the three bolts securing the vacuum pump to the rear of the alternator. With the pump removed from the alternator spline shaft, remove the O-ring located between the pump and the alternator (see figure 13.3, a, b).

Installation
4. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
