The vacuum pump in a diesel engine is located on the cylinder head and is driven by the camshaft via a pushrod. The pump creates the vacuum required by the brake booster, since diesel engines, unlike gasoline engines, do not create sufficient vacuum in the intake pipe.
Removal
Disconnect the oil return hose "4" from the vacuum pump and the vacuum hose going to the brake booster; first, you need to loosen the fastening clamps and move them off the pipes.
First unscrew the upper bolt "6", then the lower bolt "7", remove the vacuum pump.
Installation
Install seal "2". First check it for defects, replace if necessary.
Screw in the bottom bolt only a few turns of thread, install the vacuum pump, screw in the top bolt.
Attention! The upper vacuum pump bolt "5" is also used to secure the bracket "4" for the glow plug wires.
Tighten both bolts evenly.
Connect the oil return hose and vacuum hose.
