You will need: a 10 mm spanner, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the floor tunnel lining (see Removing and installing floor tunnel lining).

3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the parking brake indicator switch.

4. Remove the three bolts securing the parking brake lever to the body base.

5. Using a screwdriver, pry up the stop tab on the parking brake lever…

6….straighten the antennae…

7….and remove the front cable tip from the leash groove.

8. Remove the parking brake lever.

9. If the parking brake actuator lever has been removed for replacement and the new lever does not have a parking brake indicator light switch, remove the screw securing the switch to the base of the lever…

10….remove the switch and install it on the new lever.
11. Install the parking brake lever and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
12. Check the adjustment of the parking brake drive and adjust the drive if necessary (see Adjusting the Parking Brake Drive).
