Rear wheel brake caliper replacement

            0

You will need: a wrench or socket "15", a special wrench for brake pipes "14", pliers with thin jaws, a wrench for wheel nuts, a container for draining brake fluid.

NOTE: This is what the special brake line wrenches look like.

1. Remove the wheel from the side of the caliper to be replaced.

2. Loosen the rear parking brake cables (refer to Parking Brake Actuator Adjustment).

3. Loosen the lower end of the brake hose.

4. Grab the tip of the rear parking brake cable with fine jaw pliers..

5….and pull it out of the slot in the spreader lever.

6. Remove the tip of the parking brake cable sheath from the bracket hole on the caliper by squeezing the tip retainers, and disconnect the cable from the caliper.

7. Turn out two bolts of fastening of directing pads to a fist and disconnect a support from a fist.

8. Disconnect the caliper from the brake hose by unscrewing it from the hose end and remove the caliper assembly from the shoe guide.

USEFUL ADVICE: Substitute a container to drain the rest of the brake fluid from the hose and the working cylinder of the caliper.

USEFUL ADVICE: To prevent complete leakage of fluid from the hydraulic drive, immediately plug the tube opening in any way possible. Protective valve caps for venting valves are very well suited for this purpose.

9. The second wheel caliper is removed in the same way.

10. Install the caliper in the reverse order of removal. Apply an anaerobic threadlocker to the threads before installing the shoe guide to knuckle bolts.

Tighten the tip of the brake hose completely until the caliper is installed on the knuckle. When installing the caliper, make sure that the hose is not twisted.

11. After installation, restore the brake fluid level in the master brake cylinder reservoir and bleed the air from the brake hydraulic drive (see Bleeding the hydraulic brake system).

12. Adjust parking brake actuator (refer to Parking Brake Actuator Adjustment).
