Intake Manifold Bolt Tightening Sequence

1. Lubricate the valve lifters with clean engine oil and insert them into the cylinder block. Make sure that they are installed in their original places.
2. Check that the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and cylinder heads are clean.
3. Install new cylinder head gaskets onto the cylinder block guide bushings. Ensure that the gaskets are positioned correctly. The left and right gaskets are different. The gaskets are marked "FRONT торг" ("front top side").
4. Carefully lower the cylinder heads onto the cylinder block and secure with bolts.
5. Tighten the bolts in three stages, in a specific sequence, in accordance with the tightening torques specified in subsection 3.3.1.
6. Lubricate the push rods with engine oil and insert them into the cylinder block.
7. Install oil deflector shields on the cylinder heads and install the valve rocker arm shafts as an assembly.

8. Insert the valve lever adjusting screws into the pushrod sockets.
9. Gradually tighten the valve rocker arm shaft mounting bolts to the specified tightening torque.
10. Lubricate the outer edge of the cylinder head mating surface and the intake manifold mating surface with gasket sealant.
11. Install the new intake manifold gasket and install the intake manifold.
12. Install the intake manifold mounting bolts and tighten them in four steps to the specified torque in the specified sequence.
13. Adjust valve clearances.
